Rebuilt with heart, designed for slow mornings.

Phoenix Triangle sits in the Sierra foothills outside historic Mariposa — a modern A-frame with walls of glass, long-range mountain views, and pines close enough to hear. It was built for the kind of trip where the days are big and the mornings are slow: families spreading out across three bedrooms, friends cooking together, couples watching the light change from the hot tub.

The name isn't decoration — it's the story. A devastating wildfire took our first home here. We poured our hearts into rebuilding on the same ground, and what rose is stronger and more beautiful than what we lost. Every room in it was chosen, not specified.

Good to know

How far is Yosemite, and what is the drive like?

The Arch Rock entrance is 28 miles away — about 45 minutes down Highway 140, following the Merced River most of the way. Yosemite Valley is another ten miles or so past the gate, roughly an hour from the cabin. Leave early: the entrance queue builds through the morning, and an early start buys you the best light in the Valley. From roughly May through September the park also requires an entry reservation, so check the National Park Service site when you plan your dates.

Is there an EV charger?

Yes — a Level 2 charger on the deck. It uses a SAE J1772 connector, which fits most non-Tesla EVs; Teslas work with the adapter that came with the car. Charging runs through EV Match, which bills your card for the electricity you actually use. Setting up an EV Match account before your trip is easiest, so the car can charge while you relax.

What is the WiFi like?

Fast Starlink WiFi throughout the house, plus a dedicated workspace with a desk in the second bedroom — comfortable for remote work or a long video call.

Is there a hot tub?

Yes — a hot tub on the deck, available all year. Spa towels are provided, and guests can adjust the temperature at the tub controls; setting it to 100°F or below helps it cool down faster in summer.

What's in the kitchen?

A full kitchen with cookware, bakeware, and a Keurig plus an Aeropress for coffee — cooking oil and other basics are stocked in the pantry too. Most dishes are dishwasher-safe (wine glasses should be hand-washed). There's also a gas grill on the deck with propane provided. Traveling with a little one? A crib and high chair are both on hand.

What are check-in and check-out?

Self check-in with a smart lock. Check in any time from 4pm (as late as midnight with a heads-up), and check out by 10am. Early check-in is sometimes available for a small fee starting at $25 when there's no same-day turnover, and a late check-out of up to an hour can usually be arranged depending on the cleaning schedule.

What is getting to the cabin like?

The last 400 feet is a gentle gravel driveway with a few curves up from Triangle Road. All-wheel drive handles it easily; two-wheel-drive cars are fine too, just take it slow when the ground is wet. There is free parking on site.

Can we bring a pet?

We are not able to host pets. Several of our guests, friends and family have allergies, and keeping the house pet-free is how we look after them. Thank you for understanding.

Is the cabin open in winter?

Year-round. In normal conditions the gravel driveway is easy for AWD and fine for 2WD cars with a little care; during and after a snowfall we recommend AWD or tire chains, and there's a lower parking area you can use if your car isn't snow-ready. The house has two-zone heating and an electric fireplace, so it warms up fast.
